Ethical sourcing
With 98 years of heritage as an independent manufacturer building on long-term supplier relationships, we source responsibly grown and processed primary cane and beet sugars from around the world.
Raw materials sourcing is governed by our sustainable procurement strategy. We manufacture in a technologically advanced and efficient production facility and choose delivery and distribution partners that share our values.

Quality assurance and ethical standards
Oversight and governance by third-party assurance and standards organisations provide the accreditations and certifications that qualify Ragus to supply the most demanding customers.
BRC Global Standard
The BRCGS logo is used by organisations that have achieved certification in the Food Safety, Packaging, Consumer Products, and Storage and Distribution sectors without any exclusions to the scope.
ISO 9001:2015
The internationally recognised standard for the quality management of businesses, improving product, process and service quality.
ISO 14001:2015
The principal management system standard specifying the requirements for an effective Environmental Management System.
ISO 45001:2018
An Occupational Health and Safety Management System standard, demonstrating a commitment to a safer working environment and the protection of employees against injury at work.
Organic Food Federation
Certification that an organisation’s qualifying products comply with organic regulations, made with raw materials grown according to organic principles and free from artificial preservatives, colours and flavours.
Kosher Certification
The London Beth Din Kashrut Division (KLBD) certifies products for year-round use under the Kosher status of Pareve, non-Passover.
Halal Certification
Halal Certification Europe certifies that an organisation’s products conform to Halal requirements in accordance with Islamic Law.
Fairtrade
An independent, widely recognised product certification that reinforces the message that Fairtrade producers have received Fairtrade terms when selling their products.
Sedex
A membership association that empowers responsible supply chains. Ragus is a member and is committed to ethical trade practices, with SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA) audits.
Bee Farmers Association
The voice of professional beekeeping in the United Kingdom. Membership confirms adherence to the association’s code of conduct.

Each year, Ragus partners with two charities: a local organisation, and one that has sustainability as its core focus.
Thames Valley Adventure Playground
Our local partner. A charity supporting children and adults with all types of special needs, their families and carers. Its specialist indoor and outdoor facility in Maidenhead, west of London, opened in 1982.
Project Seagrass
Our sustainability partner. A global environmental charity devoted to the conservation of seagrass ecosystems through research, community and action.
